Tips on buying and using an extended warranty 1. If your car is already insured by GEICO, and your car falls in the guide lines age/ miles. 2. Look no further. 3. Make sure that your coverage runs consecutively to the manufactures warranty. Not concurrently. This is not unusual. Not only do you pay twice .They may want each other to pay the claim. 4. Understand there is very likely a huge mark up if you pay the asking price buying the warranty from a car dealer. 5. Try contacting the insurance company directly to price their best plan . 6. Then offer to let the dealer beat that number. But wait till the deal is almost done to remember you want the warranty. Be ready to walk at any time. Better yet, never buy a new car without sleeping on it. 7. Understand you can take your car to any shop. You are not locked in to the dealer . Just make sure the shop or dealer is interested in helping you get your claim paid. As the shop can have a major impact on the out come of your claim. By cooperating with the warranty company and the inspector. |
